Cal Lutheran Wins on 5 Goals by Gallegos

THOUSAND OAKS — Jill Gallegos tied Rachel Wackerman’s school record of five goals Saturday, leading Cal Lutheran to an 8-0 SCIAC victory over Whittier.

Freshman goalie Kim Carver had an easy afternoon in the net for Cal Lutheran (6-1, 4-0), saving the only shot her teammates allowed.

Kim Holeman, Laura Heifner and Emily Kanney also scored for the Regals, who bombarded Poet goalie Helen Baron with 45 shots.

Gallegos, who is second on Cal Lutheran’s all-time scoring list with 49 goals, has 18 this season.
