Genentech Inc. announced the promotion of Louis J. Lavigne Jr. to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Lavigne, who joined the South San Francisco-based biotechnology firm in 1982, will be responsible for treasury, control, information systems, insurance, tax, planning and purchasing.
