COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Long Beach State Beats UCI

Tracie Dahl had 17 kills as Long Beach State beat UC Irvine, 15-5, 10-15, 15-9, 15-11, in a Big West Conference volleyball match Wednesday at UCI.

Brita Schwerm had 16 kills and Nichelle Burton added 10 kills and 14 digs for the 49ers (10-3, 6-1), ranked 10th.

The Anteaters (3-11, 2-5) were led by Popi Edwards, who had 21 kills and 11 digs.

In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:

Westmont 3, Concordia 0--Behind Jeremy Tiger, who scored two goals, Westmont (8-2) scored all its goals in the first half.

Bonner Rinn had eight saves for Concordia (3-4-1).

Pt. Loma Nazarene 1, Southern California College 0 (OT)--Justin Demaree kicked the game-winning goal in the opening minutes of overtime for Pt. Loma Nazarene. SCC dropped to 5-6, 1-1).

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

The Master’s 3, Concordia 2--Elania Kollias had 19 kills for Concordia against The Master’s, which won, 11-15, 8-15, 15-11, 15-6, 15-13.

Heidi Elliot led The Master’s with 13 kills. Concordia drops to 10-9.
