The Times’ Niese Honored by Law Group: William A. Niese, senior vice president of law and human resources for the Los Angeles Times, has been named 1994 Outstanding Corporate Counsel by the Los Angeles County Bar Assn. The award is given each year to a member of the bar employed in a corporate law department who has made significant contributions to the practice of law, corporate counsel and the community. Niese was promoted to his current position in 1990. He had served The Times as vice president and general counsel since 1985.
