COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Chapman Beats UC San Diego in Triple Overtime

Ramin Bastani made a three-point shot at the buzzer in the second overtime to tie the score and Chapman went on to defeat UC San Diego, 109-102, in a triple-overtime men’s basketball game Wednesday before about 4,000 in San Diego.
Bastani, a freshman from Corona del Mar High, scored a game-high 25 points for the Panthers (10-5).
Adam Dzierzynski had 24 points and nine assists, Toby Curto had 24 points and Stefan Mumaw had 22 points and 19 rebounds for Chapman.
Chapman, which shot 47.6% from the field, held San Diego (6-10) to 36.9% shooting, including eight of 36 from beyond the three-point line.
Kahlil Allen scored 19 points for San Diego, which was playing its first game in a new 5,000-seat arena.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball:
Concordia 109, Cal Baptist 95--Pharoah Jones scored 25 points, Jeff Putnam had 22 points and 17 rebounds and Danny Barajas had 22 points and seven assists for host Concordia (15-1, 1-0), which won its 11th consecutive game.
The score was tied, 51-51, at the half. Concordia shot 60.7% from the field, 61.5% on three-pointers and 84% from the free-throw line.
In men’s swimming:
UC Irvine 92, Pacific 91--Pat Keenan won the 200-yard freestyle in a personal-best 1 minute 46.32 and Erik Walton won the 100 backstroke in 53.82 for Irvine.
