LAKE FOREST : Base May Play Host to Landing Practice

Residents who live near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station might notice more noise than usual this week if landing exercises normally conducted elsewhere are held at the base.
Field carrier landing practice is usually performed at San Clemente Island, which might be unavailable due to use by San Diego military personnel.
If the exercises are held at El Toro, the planes will utilize special types of landings to reduce noise levels.
If held, the practices will take place today and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
