California Highway Patrol officers shut down the southbound Santa Ana Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles for an hour Sunday morning after a suicide jumper leaped from an overpass into the southbound lanes and was killed by oncoming cars.
The unidentified jumper’s death sent six cars smashing into one another as motorists swerved to avoid the body, said Los Angeles Police Officer Craig Brown.
No one else was hurt in the 10 a.m. incident, Brown said.
