The Harbor Department has purchased the Maritime Bank Building on Anaheim Street in Wilmington for $265,000.
Community groups and the local Chamber of Commerce are expected to use the two-story building for meetings, port spokesman Jeff Leong said.
It will also house field offices for the Port Police Department and be used for other port-related business, Leong said.
Constructed more than 60 years ago, the building has been vacant for about two years. It was most recently owned by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
