Coach: John Winek (ninth year).
1994: 15-3, 7-1 in the Orange League. Won league championship, finished seventh in the Southern Regional.
Key returners: Tony Brunetti, Sr.; Bruce Campbell, Jr.; Eric Lama, Jr.; John Lee, Sr.; Chris Porter, Sr.; Robert Todd, Jr.; James Wooley, Sr.
Key newcomers: Dalen DeMary, Fr.
Outlook: Winek says this is his strongest team ever. Lee, a Times all-county selection in 1993, is again playing very well--he set a school record by shooting five-under-par 32 at Alta Vista Country Club. He was Orange League runner-up to Tiger Woods three consecutive times, but won’t have to worry about that this year. He should also be among the favorites at the section individual tournament; it’s being played at Canyon Country Club, where Lee finished third as a sophomore. Wooley and Porter are also capable of shooting under par, and Campbell can give the Tigers a fourth player under 80. “We’ve just got to get stronger at the bottom of our lineup,” Winek said. “We’ve got to have a couple step forward.”
