NIT ROUNDUP : Penn State Run Beats Miami Run

John Amaechi scored 21 points and Penn State (18-10) came back from a 20-point deficit in the second half to beat Miami, 62-56, Wednesday in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament at State College, Pa.
Miami (15-13) used a 27-4 first-half run to help build a 48-28 lead with 14 minutes to play before Penn State went on a 20-3 run to get back into the game.

Isaac Fontaine scored 32 points to lead Washington State (17-11) past Texas Tech, 94-82, at Pullman, Wash. Texas Tech finished 20-10. . . . Keith Carmichael made two three-point baskets in overtime to give Coppin State (21-9) a 75-68 victory over St. Joseph’s (17-12) in a game in Philadelphia that was held up 1 hour 15 minutes because Mario McGriff of Coppin State shattered a backboard during warmups. . . .
