MONROVIA : Learn How Teamwork Can Help After Quake
- Share via
The Fire Department is offering earthquake-response training for residents.
The department’s Neighborhood Emergency Action Team program teaches residents how to form emergency response teams in their neighborhoods after a disaster occurs, when city police and fire personnel are likely to be overwhelmed.
“Thousands of emergency calls went unanswered during the first 24 hours after the (Northridge) quake,” said Fire Capt. Sam DiGiovanna in explaining the need for the program.
