COLLEGE ROUNDUP : SCC Wins Three in Florida Softball Tournament

Jenn Caruso went three for four with three runs batted in Thursday to lead the Southern California College softball team to a 9-1 victory over Bellhaven (Miss.) in the West Florida Spring Tournament in Pensacola.
Shannon O’Rourke went three for four with two runs scored and an RBI for the Vanguards in the game, which was stopped after six innings because of the mercy rule. In two previous pool-play games Thursday, SCC beat Pikeville (Ky.), 9-0, and Mississippi College, 4-1.
In nonconference women’s tennis:
Oregon 6, CS Fullerton 2 (darkness)--After losing the first set, Christa Hanson won, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, for Cal State Fullerton (7-7).
In the Cal State Fullerton Pony-Louisville Softball Tournament:
Most of Thursday’s games were postponed because of wet grounds and rescheduled for today. The Titans will play Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. and Bowling Green at 5 p.m.
