VENTURA : Gurney Races to Benefit the Needy
- Share via
The second annual Gurney Tourney benefit will wheel its way through the Harbortown Marina Resort parking lot in Ventura today.
More than 15 teams will begin nursing their hospital gurneys along at 11:30 a.m. at 1050 Schooner Drive.
The event, organized by the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Assn. Guild, raises money for the group’s home health and hospice programs for low-income people.
The association is the county’s oldest and largest nonprofit home health-care agency.
Each team seeks corporate sponsors, and team members raise money through pledges.
The teams compete to raise the most money, as well as complete the obstacle course the quickest.
There is also a costume contest.
To enter the Gurney Tourney, call 642-0239, Ext. 766.
