Universal City : Welder’s Torch Starts Fire at Hard Rock Cafe
- Share via
A welder who left his torch on a strip of insulation at a Hard Rock Cafe that is under construction set the structure ablaze Wednesday, but the fire was soon extinguished by firefighters, officials said.
The fire started about 11:50 a.m. and was put out about 35 minutes later, Los Angeles County Firefighter Larry Duran said. The flames ran along the insulation in the three-story structure and never ignited the frame, Duran said.
There were no injuries.
