Vivian B. Taminich, a Ventura County resident for 33 years, has died at age 79.
Mrs. Taminich was a homemaker devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, according to her son, Nick A. Taminich of Ventura.
“She was pretty much a giver. She liked helping people in any kind of way,” said her son.
Mrs. Taminich was born May 15, 1916, in Clarksdale, Ariz., and lived in Los Angeles before moving to Ventura. She died Sunday after a brief illness.
She had a special love for gardening.
“She always kept a garden,” Nick Taminich said. “The last few years she had a gardener, but she was always out there pointing to something on a fruit tree or telling him about the grass.”
Mrs. Taminich is survived by two sons, Nick Taminich and Steve J. Brown of Manhattan Beach; one daughter, Julie D. Ramirez of Downey; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters--Peggy Randolph of Oklahoma City, Betty Karam of El Paso, Tex., and Bertha Arroyas of Apple Valley.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Chapel in Ventura. Arrangements are being handled by Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home of Ventura.
