British Brewer Delivers: Bass has become the first British brewer to deliver beer direct to the consumer’s doorstep. The service, launched in London, Nottingham and Birmingham, allows customers to place a telephone order for a crate of Bass beer to be delivered to their home within 48 hours. A company spokesman said the idea of cutting out the retailer was inspired by the increasing popularity of home shopping in other retailing sectors.
