Arcadia 20, Crescenta Valley 13--Quarterback Matt Shepherd scored on runs of 59 and 63 yards for the Apaches (9-1, 4-1) at Glendale High.
The Falcons’ intricate Wing-T offense amassed 264 rushing yards, led by Steve Kanzler’s 16-carry, 127-yard performance that included a 31-yard touchdown.
Arcadia put the game away with a nine-minute, 15-play drive, capped by Mathis Ward’s six-yard touchdown run with 2:46 to play.
The Falcons (2-7-1, 1-3-1) failed to score on two first-and-goal situations. Marla Nelson missed two field goal attempts and had a third blocked as Crescenta Valley was eliminated from playoff contention.
Falcon quarterback Mike Dely completed four of eight passes for 45 yards, and also scored on a one-yard touchdown run.
