GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS : Kruer, Krol Lead La Reina to Sweep

Kristin Kruer had 8 kills and 11 digs and Kylene Krol added 12 assists as La Reina High defeated Glenn, 15-3, 15-12, 15-5, Saturday in a Southern Section Division IV second-round playoff match at La Reina.
The Regents, ranked No. 7 in the division, improved to 19-1. The Eagles finished at 17-1.
In other second-round matches:
L.A. Baptist d. Mojave 11-15, 15-10, 15-9, 13-15, 15-9--Kristen Jensen had 24 kills and Tunde Hrotko had 13 kills and 60 assists as the Knights (15-3) defeated the Mustangs (16-2) in a Division V match at L.A. Baptist.
Cornerstone Christian d. Arrowhead Christian Academy 18-16, 15-5, 15-10--Karen Breshears had 26 kills, Julia Tamai had 21 assists and seven aces and Julie Siefert had 28 assists and 16 digs as the Eagles (18-3) defeated Arrowhead (12-7) in a Division VI match at Cornerstone Christian.
Pioneer Baptist d. Viewpoint 15-3, 11-15, 15-7, 7-15, 15-9--Lindsay Welch had 16 kills and Taryn Linder had 20 assists but the Patriots (13-5) lost to Pioneer Baptist (20-1) in a Division VI match at Viewpoint.
Thacher d. La Verne Lutheran 15-13, 15-5, 15-5--Kim Turner had 10 kills and Katie Kochendorfer had nine as the Toads (15-2) defeated the Trojans (13-7) in a Division VI match at La Verne Lutheran.
