Investigators were searching Sunday for suspected robbers in two unrelated holdups in Orange County that left a shoe store manager and a convenience store clerk shaken but not injured.
A masked teen-ager entered a 7-Eleven in the 25700 block of La Paz Road in Laguna Hills about 7:40 p.m. Saturday and demanded cash, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Paddock said.
The robber, who said he was armed with a handgun, took $300 to $400 from the store clerk, 20-year-old David Lockwood of La Habra, and fled in an unknown direction, deputies said.
The robber was described as possibly Asian or Hispanic, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a red vinyl jacket and a dark baseball cap, Paddock said.
Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery to call (714) 647-1832.
About two hours later, a gun-toting man in his late teens or early 20s confronted a Kinney Shoes manager in front of a First Interstate Bank in the 200 block of South State College Boulevard in Brea and demanded she hand over a deposit bag, Lt. Doug Dickerson said.
The robber fled with about $3,200, Dickerson said.
Police described the robber as black, about 5-foot-5, with a thin build.
