Litton’s Profit Jumps 14% on Electronics-Related Sales

Litton Industries Inc., a Woodland Hills defense electronics and shipbuilding concern, reported that recent electronics acquisitions and continued improvement in demand for electronics-related products helped its fiscal first-quarter earnings grow 14%.
In the three months that ended Oct. 31, Litton had a profit of $36.7 million, compared to $32.1 million in net income a year earlier. Its first-quarter revenue rose 10%, to $400.7 million from $362.9 million.
