Junior Fair Board Seeking Members
For young adults interested in developing leadership skills and performing a community service, the Ventura County Fair is accepting applications until Dec. 29 for membership on its Junior Fair Board.
Selections are based on written applications and interviews by a panel of advisors that include the Ventura County Fair board of directors. Interviews will be held in January for the 1996 term, which lasts from January through September.
The 20 board members, age 15 through 20, will meet monthly to plan fair events, including the Diaper Derby, pie-eating contest, egg toss, hog calling and cow chip toss.
The members also assist at fair functions and help visitors who have special needs.
Applications are available at Seaside Park in Ventura. Additional information may be obtained by calling Seaside Park at 648-3376.
