ANAHEIM — A 40-year-old Anaheim woman was struck by a car as she ran across State College Boulevard and she later died of her injuries, police said.
Marcia Rodgers, of Anaheim, died at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana hours after the 7:58 p.m. accident Saturday.
Police said Rodgers was running east across the street, north of Lincoln Avenue, when she was struck by a Pontiac Grand Am driving north on State College Boulevard.
Rodgers was treated at the scene for major head injuries and taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery but later died. The Pontiac was driven by a 54-year-old Placentia woman, police said.
No one has been cited in connection with the accident, and police said neither speeding nor alcohol were factors. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Anaheim Police Investigator Vince Delgado at (714) 254-1835.
