Loyola Marymount Holds Off Persistent Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Jim Williamson, a junior guard, scored 18 points as Loyola Marymount beat Northern Arizona, 67-61, Saturday night.
With 16 seconds remaining, Northern Arizona (3-7) closed the score to 65-61 with a basket by Tootie Green and two free throws by Charles Thomas.
But Williamson scored two free throws to seal the victory for the Lions (9-3).
Ime Oduok added 18 points and Ben Ammerman had 11 for the Lions. Thomas led the Lumberjacks with 12 points, and Jermone Riley and Green added 11.
The Lumberjacks led at halftime, 28-26, and kept it up until 9:42 in the second. Ammerman hit two free throws to put the Lions ahead, 47-45.
Loyola Marymount opens West Coast Conference play Thursday against San Francisco.
