FULLERTON — An 86-year-old La Habra woman might have suffered a fatal heart attack moments before the car she was driving jumped the curb and crashed into a parked van, police said Saturday.
The woman’s name is not being released until her family is notified, said Fullerton Police Lt. Tony Hernandez. No one else was injured in the crash, which took place a little after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, he said.
The woman was driving south in the 700 block of South Harbor Boulevard when her car drove up a curb and then rammed into a parked van, which it pushed about 100 feet before the two vehicles came to a stop, Hernandez said.
She suffered head injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead on arrival at Anaheim Memorial Hospital. The case of death is under investigation, and authorities suspect the woman suffered a heart attack.
