Santa Monica police are searching for the gunman involved in the fatal drive-by shooting that left one woman dead and two 17-year-olds injured over the weekend.
Betty Casillas, 22, of Santa Monica was shot and killed Saturday while standing with a large group shortly after 1 a.m. in the 2100 block of Delaware Avenue, said Sgt. Gary Gallinot.
The two unidentified juveniles from Santa Monica, a boy and girl, also were hit. Both were in good condition at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, Gallinot said.
Police said the witnesses were not able to describe the gunman or the car. It is not known if the shooting was gang-related, although the neighborhood where the incident occurred has been plagued by gang violence.
