World IN BRIEF : GERMANY : Parliament Hears Israeli President

In the first speech by an Israeli president to the German parliament, Ezer Weizman said he can never forgive the Nazis for killing 6 million Jews. The 71-year-old Weizman warned Germans to remain vigilant against neo-Nazism and racism, but he also said the two nations “have to find common ground” to improve ties. Weizman’s speech in Hebrew was a highlight of a four-day state visit that has included a wreath-laying at a World War II concentration camp outside Berlin.
