Bruce Eien has been hired as the football coach at Brethren Christian, replacing Ken Sharrar, who resigned this week, Athletic Director Robin Davis said Thursday.
Eien has been an assistant at the school the last six years.
Sharrar had a 16-18 record during his three seasons as coach and guided the Warriors to the Southern Section Division X championship game in 1993. He resigned to accept an assistant coach position at West Chester State (Pa.).
Eien has been the Warriors’ offensive coordinator since 1990.

Trace Deneke has resigned as Dana Hills football coach to take an assistant coach position at Rancho Buena Vista High in Vista, Athletic Director Rich Skelton said.
Deneke, who lives in Vista, stepped down because of the commute, according to Skelton. Deneke will also be a teacher at Rancho Buena Vista.
The Dolphins were 2-18 during Deneke’s two years as coach.
