Buena States Case, Defeats Fairfield, 48-43

Buena High rallied from five points down in the first quarter to beat Northern California power Fairfield, 48-43, Saturday night in a nonleague game between two of the state’s best girls’ basketball teams at Del Campo High in Sacramento.
The Bulldogs (16-0), top-ranked in the Southern Section’s Division I poll, trailed Fairfield, 14-9, after one quarter, but Kori Sebek sank two three-point baskets to help Buena take a 23-22 halftime lead.
Buena increased its lead to 33-28 after three quarters and played Fairfield (17-3) even the rest of the way.
Eboni Conley scored 13 points, Sebek added 11 and Nicole Greathouse had nine points and 16 rebounds for Buena.
Hart 47, Saugus 27--The Indians held Saugus without a field goal for more than 10 minutes in the second half of a Foothill League game at Valencia High.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Alemany 72, Loyola 70--Jesus Castillon had 23 points, including three free throws in the final 20 seconds, for the Indians (10-10, 3-3) in a Mission League game at L.A. Baptist High.
