Williamson Leads Loyola to 66-60 Win

MORAGA, Calif. — Jim Williamson scored 23 points, including three key three-point baskets in the second half, to lead Loyola Marymount to a 66-60 victory over St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference Friday night.
Ben Ammerman scored 14 points and Ime Oduok, the WCC’s leading rebounder, had 13 rebounds for the Lions (13-5, 3-2).
Williamson’s final three-point basket put the Lions ahead, 60-54, with 5:54 left, but the Gaels (9-8, 2-3) narrowed the margin to 60-59 with 3:30 remaining.
Ammerman’s driving lay-in at the 2:58 mark put Loyola Marymount ahead, 62-59, and St. Mary’s managed only one free throw in the last 1:09. Williamson put the game out of reach with four consecutive free throws.
Eric Schraeder led St. Mary’s with 13 points.
Loyola Marymount has won four of its last five WCC games.
