In another Division III boys’ game:
Moreno Valley Canyon Springs 2, Newport Harbor 1--Justin Kerr scored in the second half, assisted by Brett Baker, but the Sailors (17-7-4) were eliminated in the quarterfinal at Kaiser Elementary School.
In a Division III girls’ game:
Brea Olinda 2, Chino Hills Ayala 1--Susan Shuplock scored 15 minutes into the second half to help Brea Olinda (17-7-1) defeat the second-seeded Bulldogs in a quarterfinal at Ayala.
Shuplock scored from 20 yards, after a Kelly Peterson pass. Peterson also assisted on Alli Mauzey’s first-half goal.
Jennifer Babel scored for Ayala.
Christine Geske made nine saves for the Wildcats, who play Norco in the semifinals Tuesday.
