Fullerton Loses State Softball Final

Fullerton reached the title game but was beaten by Sacramento, 7-4, in the community college state softball tournament Sunday at Central Park in Fremont.
Kristy Bonwell hit a two-run double to cap a six-run fourth inning as Fullerton beat Palomar, 6-0, in an elimination game.
Jennifer Johnson hit a three-run triple in the third to give Fullerton a 4-3 lead over Sacramento (59-6), but the Panthers scored one in the fourth to tie it and three in the sixth for the victory.
Kristy Osborne, who won four of five games for Fullerton (39-12), was selected the tournament’s outstanding pitcher.
