Seeing Mack Reed’s journals of the AIDS ride when I got back from riding in it myself brought back a whole wave of emotion that I didn’t think I would get to experience again (June 3, 6 and 9). The ride was an incredible seven days that I don’t think I could find the words to describe, but Reed managed to come about as close as humanly possible with his vivid imagery.
