Mayor Riordan Nominates 2 for Commissioner Posts

Mayor Richard Riordan on Monday announced the nominations of two commissioners, replacing appointees on the citizen panels overseeing the airport and animal regulation departments.
Edward Manning, an environmental lawyer at McClintock, Weston, Benshoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava & MacCuish, would replace Martha Brown Hicks on the Airport Commission. Manning previously served as Santa Monica’s deputy city attorney and as general counsel to Lt. Gov. Leo McCarthy, forming policy on land use and oil and gas matters.
Kim L. Hunter, owner of the advertising and public relations firm LAGRANT Group, would replace Camille Robins on the Board of Animal Regulation. Hunter is also on the boards of the American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood and KCET public television.
Both nominations must be confirmed by the City Council.
