Two men and three juveniles were arrested Monday in connection with possession of a stolen vehicle after they led police on a chase which ended when it hit a sign.
Police were notified of a vehicle being stolen at 12:30 p.m. Monday when its alarm was activated, said Tustin Police Lt. Robert Schoenkopf. Officers tracked the van 10 minutes later to the 15900 block of Pasadena Avenue, where they set up surveillance.
An hour later, five males drove off in the van, Schoenkopf said. When officers tried to stop them, they drove onto the northbound Costa Mesa Freeway and exited at Chapman Avenue in Orange. The driver struck a sign at Cambridge Street and Chapman, he said. No one was hurt and names were not released.
