Port Hueneme Marines Capture Award

The Port Hueneme-based Marines of Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines reservists were awarded the General Clifton B. Cates Award for the second straight year. The annual award honors an outstanding company, battery or platoon-size unit of the 4th Marine Division.
Units are evaluated in areas such as mobilization readiness, unit training programs, inspection results, marksmanship, physical fitness, training attendance and participation in community programs.
The award is named after the 19th commandant of the Marine Corps.
