BREA — Brea Fest, a community festival featuring music, art, food, dance performances and exhibits, will be Aug. 23.
The festival, Brea’s largest city-sponsored event of the year, will feature food from more than 30 restaurants. Three musical acts--a country-western band, classic rock group and contemporary jazz ensemble--will perform. A magician and face painter will also be on hand.
The event will be from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center, 1 Civic Center Circle. Admission is free, and a booklet of food coupons is $10. Proceeds will benefit the city’s cultural arts programs.
Last year, the city raised more than $15,000 from the festival, which helped fund the Concerts in the Park series, art exhibits and other events.
