Leslie’s Poolmart Posts 45% Rise in Net Income

Leslie’s Poolmart posted strong second-quarter results with a 45% jump in its net income on a 24% rise in sales.
The Chatsworth-based swimming pool supply store chain had a $9.7-million profit in the quarter that ended June 29, compared to a $6.7-million profit a year ago. Sales in the latest quarter rose to $88.8 million, up from $71.9 million.
For the six months, the company’s profits rose 78% to $4.1 million, up from a $2.3-million profit in the same period a year ago. Leslie’s sales rose 22% to $106.9 million, up from $87.3 million.
The company has 260 retail stores in 27 states and it runs a mail-order catalog.
