OUTLOOK

With 40 returning lettermen, strength at wide receiver, tight end, running back, offensive line and secondary, it’s easy to see why opposing coaches favor the Chargers for the league title. But with defensive line and linebacking corps questionable, the Chargers’ games could be interesting. The defending Division V champion lost quarterback Steve Krupp (2,457 yards) but has two of its three primary weapons returning: Sango (1237 yards rushing, 69 catches for 879 yards, 22 touchdowns) and Oates (1,347 yards rushing, 17 touchdowns). Koupal and Smith each had 33 receptions, and with Foellimi give El Toro a potent set of receivers.
