A 30-year-old Duarte man who was on the verge of getting married and had just applied to the Los Angeles Police Department was fatally shot during a traffic argument in Alhambra, authorities said Thursday.
Christopher Hernandez and his fiancee, whose name was not released, were riding east in Hernandez’s white pickup truck in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Alhambra about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday when he got into a “traffic dispute” with two men in a passing sedan, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Gabe Ramirez said.
Hernandez was shot while driving, and he died two hours later at County-USC Medical Center, Ramirez said.
Ramirez said Hernandez had just applied to the LAPD and was scheduled to be married Oct. 26. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call sheriff’s homicide detectives at (213) 890-5500.
