Southwest Deals Pierce 11th Straight Defeat, 27-7

The Pierce College football team was at a loss for offense in its 27-7 defeat Saturday to host L.A. Southwest in a Western State Conference interdivisional game.
The Brahmas (0-3) were limited to 175 yards, including 15 rushing, as they lost their 11th in a row. Southwest (1-2) won its first game.
Quarterback Dan McMullen was one of the few bright spots for Pierce, completing 16 of 21 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter.
Wide receiver Jermaine Brooks had eight receptions for 70 yards.
The Brahmas scored their only touchdown on a seven-yard pass from McMullen to Leon Weathersby in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Southwest turned in its best offensive performance of the season and piled up 283 yards rushing. The Cougars did not attempt a pass in the second half.
Running back Courtney Bell led Southwest with 130 yards and a touchdown in 20 carries.
Shina Onaolapo ran for 69 yards in 10 carries and kicked two field goals.
