Golden West Beats Riverside in 4 Games

Mariah Marquis had 15 kills to help Golden West beat Riverside in four games in Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball Friday.
The Rustlers won, 15-5, 15-4, 9-15, 15-10. Lorna Lyttle added 11 kills for Golden West, which is ranked first in the state and undefeated (7-0, 1-0).
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Cypress 2, Riverside 1--Cypress’ Scott Baca and Michael Freeman scored second-half goals as the host Chargers rallied to top Riverside in an Orange Empire conference game. Chargers’ keeper Jeff Gibson had seven saves, including one on a penalty shot with less than three minutes remaining. Jaime Melara scored for Riverside.
