Calnetics Reports 36% Rise in Quarter’s Profit

Calnetics Corp., a Chatsworth maker of plastic industrial components, reported that its fiscal first-quarter profit jumped 36% despite slower sales.
In the three months ended Sept. 30, Calnetics earned $404,000, compared to net income of $296,000 in the year-earlier quarter. Its net sales were down 4%, to $8.45 million from $8.77 million.
