No. 2 Woodbridge Beats El Dorado in Tennis

Natalie Exon and Adriana Hockicko each swept in singles to lead No. 2 Woodbridge over fifth-ranked El Dorado, 14-4, in nonleague girls’ tennis Monday.
Exon took her sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, and Hockicko won, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles, Courtney Tenerelli and Michelle Stiefel swept, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, for Woodbridge (11-1). El Dorado is 11-1.
In other nonleague girls’ tennis:
Garden Grove 10, Cypress 8--Huong Diep swept her sets in singles, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, for Garden Grove (11-1). In doubles, Jamie Kong and Cynthia Tran swept 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. Cypress is 8-6.
Laguna Beach 10, El Toro 8--Trini Jessoe won two of three sets at No. 3 singles to lead Laguna Beach (6-6). Jessoe finished the day, 6-1, 6-2, 3-6.
In Olympic League girls’ tennis:
Connelly 15, Calvary Chapel 3--Connelly swept all nine sets in doubles for the victory. In singles, Ali Cook swept for Connelly, 6-4, 6-3, 6-0, helping the Koalas (6-5, 3-0) remain undefeated in league.
In Golden West League girls’ volleyball:
Rosary 3, Santa Ana 0--Alissa Sullivan had seven kills in the 15-6, 15-2, 15-6 victory for Rosary (1-5, 1-2). Gabby Prudencio had five kills for Santa Ana (2-5, 1-2).
In the North Orange County water polo tournament:
Brea Olinda 13, Edison 1--Matt Flesher scored six goals in the victory for Brea Olinda. Teammate Brent Reimer added four goals. In the following game, Edison (1-10) was defeated by Dana Hills in overtime 6-5. Dana Hills tied the score with no time on the clock to send the game into overtime.
Mission Viejo 8, La Verne Bonita 7--Wes Anderson (five goals) broke a 7-7 tie with a goal with 1:59 left in the fourth quarter for Mission Viejo (9-8). Anderson had nine goals as Mission Viejo beat Fullerton, 16-2, earlier Friday.
In nonleague water polo:
Laguna Hills 15, Pacifica 14 (sudden death)--Robby McCarthy scored the winning goal with 2:45 left in sudden death to lead Laguna Hills. Scott Lawler led the Golden Hawks with nine goals.
