Phone Book Recycling to Be Offered at 6 Sites

Early next month, Cypress and La Palma will participate in a joint recycling effort to collect old telephone books, city officials said.
New phone books will be distributed in the two cities beginning Nov. 7. Starting on that date, drop-off sites for old phone books will be open in both communities, said Jamie Herbon, joint recycling coordinator.
“It will take about two weeks for all the new phone books to be distributed after Nov. 7,” Herbon said. “The drop-off sites will be open day and night until about mid-December. . . . Recycling these phone books saves valuable space in landfills.”
The drop-off sites in La Palma will be in the parking lots of: City Hall, 7822 Walker St.; Drug Emporium, 4881 La Palma Ave.; and Centerpointe La Palma, behind the La Quinta Inn, near the northwest corner of Orangethorpe Avenue and Valley View Street.
In Cypress, the drop-off points will be in the parking lots of: Ramada Inn, 5865 Katella Ave.; Cypress Chamber of Commerce, 9471 Walker St.; and Casa Grande Apartments, 4360 Casa Grande Circle.
