Canyon Wins Water Polo Tournament Championship

Canyon defeated Palos Verdes Peninsula, 15-9, in the championship game of the Canyon water polo tournament Saturday.
Brad Schaefer had nine goals to lead Canyon.
In the semifinal, Schaefer scored five goals as the Comanches defeated Western, 8-1.
In the Estancia water polo tournament:
Magnolia 13, Huntington Beach 12--Dustin Worley scored eight goals for Huntington Beach (10-11).
Worley and teammate Eddie Jordao each scored five goals for the Oilers in a semifinal victory over Fountain Valley, 11-5.
Edison 12, Santa Margarita B 6--Taylor Jones and Kyle Tague each scored four goals for Edison (6-15) in a consolation victory.
In the Brentwood girls’ volleyball classic:
Capistrano Valley Christian loses in final--La Jolla The Bishop’s defeated Capistrano Valley Christian, 15-13, 15-10, to win the Brentwood Volleyball Classic.
In the semifinals, Capistrano Valley Christian defeated Atherton Sacred Heart, the top-ranked team in Southern Section Division V, in three games, 15-10, 13-15, 15-13.
