The monkeys, exotic birds and rare cats of Moorpark College’s animal-training program will be on display this weekend during the program’s holiday kickoff celebration and open house.
The school’s Exotic Animal Training and Management center will open its doors to the public at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors can talk to the animal trainers, have their pictures taken with some of the center’s residents and learn about the animals in a series of shows both afternoons.
The center, also known as America’s Teaching Zoo, is in the northwest corner of the campus.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children between the ages of 2 and 12. Children younger than 2 get in free.
