ORANGE — About 3,000 Pacific Bell customers lost service Tuesday when a contractor accidentally drilled into a telephone cable, company officials said.
The outage occurred about 3 p.m. and affected residents and businesses along a corridor of Chapman Avenue between Tustin Boulevard and the Orange Freeway, spokesman David Dickstein said.
The contractor was installing cable for a major long-distance company near Chapman and Eckoff Street, Dickstein said.
All service was expected to be restored today.
