Vanbiesbrouck Stars Again to Help Panthers Stay Unbeaten

The Florida Panthers maintained their unbeaten record with a 1-1 tie against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night behind John Vanbiesbrouck’s masterful goaltending at New York.
Vanbiesbrouck made 34 saves, including game-saving stops on Alexei Kovalev and Adam Graves in the final minutes of regulation.
Chicago 2, Tampa Bay 2--Eric Weinrich scored at 6:50 of the third period to help the Blackhawks earn a tie at Tampa, Fla.
The goal came after Ethan Moreau’s shot was blocked. Weinrich picked up the loose puck and beat Corey Schwab with a slap shot.
Boston 5, New Jersey 2--Bill Ranford stopped 46 shots, four after losing his stick during a New Jersey power play, and the Bruins scored three times in a span of 2:07 at Boston.
