SEASON AT A GLANCE: Fargas set a school single-season rushing record last week with 248 yards in the Knights’ 33-7 Mission League victory over Chaminade. Fargas, who has rushed for more than 200 yards in four games, raised his season total to 1,361 yards, eclipsing the previous record of 1,235 yards by Errol Small in 1989. Fargas, who rushed for 532 yards as a fullback last season, is 43 yards shy of Notre Dame’s rushing record of 1,936 yards by Lei Malieitulua from 1991-93.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Fargas (6 feet, 184 pounds) ran 80 yards for a touchdown on the game’s first play for Notre Dame (6-1 overall, 2-0 in league). Early in the fourth quarter, Fargas ran 57 yards for a touchdown in his 15th and final carry. He also had one pass reception for 16 yards.

Sarah Ellis

YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Ellis has secured her place among the top Division IV runners in the state after finishing 26th in State Division III championships last year. She has won four of seven races, including the Division IV team sweepstakes race in the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational on Friday.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Ellis ran 18 minutes 30 seconds over the three-mile course at Mt. SAC to lead La Canada to an 84-94 victory over Corona del Mar, the second-ranked team in the state. Ellis cut 43 seconds off her previous best at Mt. SAC but said she’s capable of running faster in the section championships Nov. 23. “Normally, on that course, I feel dead afterward,” she said. “But I felt great the other day.”
