Longtime Voter
At age 6 I rode a truck and beat on a washtub. A dozen buddies were aboard. At intersections we all hollered, “Coolidge and Dawes, that’s our cause.”
Now I have seen many presidents and graded their integrity. My peers and I are never polled but always vote. We have been “talked down to” by a man many years our junior. He assumes we are senile and need his help. He “feels our pain.” Our experience of age is discredited by some unsavory products of the 1960s.
We stay current on all matters that affect our nation and know that entitlements need major revisions.
We were hardened by poverty, wars and disasters. We will understand if we are asked to help save this nation once again.
And we will vote!
